The experience of investigating the academic and student life at the University of Hertfordshire Business School was illuminating. My task entailed examining several sources of information. One of the primary difficulties I encountered was verifying the authenticity and pertinence of the material, with a particular emphasis on the academic and student life aspects of the campus, while also acknowledging and appreciating its diversity.

Interviewing a student can be a demanding yet fulfilling endeavour. Initially, I encountered resistance from the student I wished to interview due to the anxiety-inducing nature of being on camera and speaking with social anxiety. It took considerable effort to persuade the interviewee that the interview would be a manageable length and that they had the freedom to leave at any time if they felt uncomfortable. This process involved managing various technical, logistical, and interpersonal aspects. Ensuring high-quality sound is essential but often difficult during student interviews. Although I couldn't utilise external microphones such as lapel mics, which greatly enhance audio recording, I had to explore other options. However, challenges like background noise and audio levels still require careful consideration. Since the location I intended to conduct the interview was fully booked, I had to find a quieter alternative for recording. This is crucial for producing clear and polished footage that appears professional. Although my choices for recording with a high-quality camera were restricted, even devices in the mid-range category may be sufficient provided used properly. Properly selecting the appropriate backdrop and framing the camera is crucial for creating an aesthetically pleasing interview. The backdrop should be relevant and unobtrusive, amplifying the focus on the interviewee. Synchronising the time and location that is mutually convenient for both the interviewer and the student may be challenging, particularly when considering academic and personal obligations. Shooting in public or semi-public settings might provide challenges for on-location collaboration. To enhance the quality of the film, it is necessary to use adept questioning and attentive listening techniques to maintain a conversational tone while staying on the subject. By promoting proper posture and a professional demeanour, the student can project a confident and attentive image. This is especially crucial when the material is intended for public or educational use.

The purpose of documenting the Library was to highlight the resources available to students. These include a wide range of books covering various subjects, an online library, and devices for accessing them within the library. Additionally, students have the convenience of a café for sustenance during their research. They also have the option to borrow books and laptops for taking notes in class, with the expectation of returning them to the library. These are the types of facilities offered at the Hertfordshire Business School. In order to successfully integrate video recording in the library of Hertfordshire Business School, it is essential to carefully weigh the advantages and disadvantages. Essential measures include prominently displaying signs indicating the existence of cameras, implementing stringent procedures about access to the recorded material and its permissible uses, and ensuring that all recording techniques adhere to legal norms. In addition, soliciting input from library patrons to gather their perspectives on video surveillance can assist in addressing privacy concerns and improving the acceptance of such measures. While video recording in the library can bolster security and educational opportunities, it is imperative to handle it with caution to uphold privacy and adhere to legal boundaries. When deciding to use this technology, it is important to carefully evaluate both its advantages and the possible obstacles it may provide.
